The fundamental reason church ministry looks so different from years ago is summarized in the words of Kennon Callahan, "The day of the churched culture is over, the day of the mission field has come." In other words, the culture in America is no longer friendly to the church and we must therefore approach ministry the way a missionary would who travels to some other land. Our Cohorts have been designed to aide churches in making that transition.
